THE IMPACT ON
YOUR LOCAL KINDERGARTEN

Cardinia Shire Council have awarded the Early Years Management (EYM) of the Kindergartens managed by Kinders Together to two different Early Childhood Providers - Best Chance and One Tree Community Services. There are significant concerns surrounding this decision, including:
Neither providers are local –Best Chance in Glen Waverly and One tree in Western Australia
To date, there are no guarantees that fees will not be increased substantially, current budgets maintained, and current services continued.
From 2018 the Early Years Managers are required to pay Cardinia Shire $35,000 to $55,000 per annum to lease each kindergarten building.
Guaranteed employment has not been given to current staff.
Risk to local identity, connections being lost and reduced capacity to meet each kindergarten’s community needs.
No guarantee of continuity of education and care across the shire’s early childhood services due to the appointment of different Early Years Managers.

What can you do? Take a stand and attend this community meeting!
